“Go and make disciples of all nations.”
IMs primary short-term ministry focus is Evangelistic English Language Camps (EELCs). These camps draw nationals who want to increase their English conversational skills, and the proven-effective program provides a natural opportunity to present the Gospel and build relationships.
North American team members lead a daily conversational English class and a one-hour conversation time in a small group setting. They also facilitate an English reading time using the Bible as the textbook. The remainder of the day is spent building friendships during free time, meals and special evening events. Some campers are believers, but many are not. They generally range in age from 13-65.
Campers come to practice conversational English with North Americans and to enjoy the fun, relaxed atmosphere. During the week, they discover that they can read and understand the Bible, that God loves them and wants relationship with them, and that Jesus died and rose again to make that relationship possible for all who place their faith in Him for salvation.
Other short-term opportunities include work teams, sports teams, and discipleship teams to work alongside our career staff in their ministry.
